My favorite recommendation for most families. It gives you enough time to enjoy the resort, spend time on the water, and truly settle into the slower pace of the Keys.

6-7 NIGHTS

Perfect for families wanting to fully embrace island life with boating, fishing, snorkeling, and plenty of downtime.

The resort is one of the biggest reasons to visit Islamorada.

LA SIESTA RESORT & VILLAS

This is almost always where I'd start.

La Siesta combines spacious accommodations with a relaxed waterfront setting that makes it easy for families to spread out and enjoy the slower pace of the Keys. Access to amenities across the Islamorada Resort Collection adds even more flexibility without losing the intimate feel of the property.

Best fit: Families wanting extra space, longer stays, couples traveling with children, and travelers who appreciate a quieter atmosphere.

Watch-out: If your picture of the Florida Keys includes wide ocean beaches, you'll want to adjust your expectations. The Keys are known more for boating, waterfront activities, and island life than expansive sandy beaches.

Families who want more activity and easy access to restaurants, watersports, and marina life often do very well here.

Best fit: Active families who plan to spend a lot of time on the water.

Watch-out: This property has a livelier atmosphere than La Siesta, which some families love and others may find busier than expected.

CHEECA LODGE & SPA

One of the area's most well-known luxury resorts, Cheeca blends beautiful grounds, excellent dining, and plenty of activities with a classic Florida Keys feel.

Best fit: Celebration trips, milestone vacations, and families looking for a more upscale resort experience.

Watch-out: Premium pricing reflects the property's reputation, so it's worth deciding whether you'll take advantage of everything it offers.
